In 1950 O.J smith developed the smith predictor (SP) controller structure to compensate process time delay. The thesis proposes the ability for improving the performance of long time delay processes using the SP approach which is used as a time delay compensating tool in many chemical process industries. As an example of industrial processes a heat process control tuning is presented
