Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Microbiology and Immunology Summary: In an effort to illucidate the main mechanism (s) of resistance of MRSA towards fluoroquinolones, a total of 94 clinical isolates of staphylococcus aureus were collected from the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, Eldemerdash Hospital, Ain Shams and Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. Of there, 45 isolates were found to be methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), 49 isolates were methicillin sensitive (MSSA) and 26 isolates were fluoroquinolones resistant MRSA
