Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Clinical and Chemical Pathology Summary: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Rheumatoid Arthritis are chronic , multifactorial autommune disorders where many genes have been tested for carrying the risk of development or the progression of these diseases . The aim of the present study was to detect the prevalence of endothelial nitric oxide synthase ( eNOS )gene polymorphisms [ the 27 - bp repeat in intron 4 and the SNP T - 786C polymorphism in the promoter region ] among Egyptian SLE and RA patients and to study the influence of these genetic polymorphisms on the clinical and laboratory features of these patients
