Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Physiology Summary: Study the cardioprotective effects of human brain natriuretic peptide (BNP [Nesiritide]) and Ý Blocker (carvedilol) against isoprenaline (ISP) induced acute heart failure (AHF) in the rats . The use of BNP and/or Ý Blocker in the treatment of AHF significantly offered cardioprotective againts ISP cardiotoxicity . Nevertheless there were no significant differences were found between groups treated by each drug alone but the low dose combined therapy showed synergistic effects
