The corpus luteum was classified into five stages according to the oestrus cycle . It was formed of steroidogenic cells and non steroidogenic cells . The steroidogenic cells were formed of two types of cells large luteal cells and small luteal cells while the non steroidogenic cells were the endothelial cells fibroblasts and immune cells
