Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Prosthodontics Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of platform switching when using different abutment materials namely; Titanium abutments and ceramic (zirconium) abutments on the; Stresses transmitted to implant supporting structure and Fracture resistance of the abutmants (zirconium). In order to simulate the oral cavity and anatomic readymade maxillary cast was duplicated into an epoxy resin cast and an implant 4.7mm x13.5mm length body diameter, 4.7mm platform diameter was inserted in the place of the maxilllary left second premolar
