It is contraindicated in patients with past or present histories of opioid dependence. Toxic effect included lethargy, tachycardia, agitation, seizures, hypertension, and coma. Therapeutic use of tramadol may cause seizures, particularly on the first day after initiating therapy. Tramadol-related deaths have occurred both when it was used with other drugs and when it was used alone
