Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Animal production Summary: There was no advantage for adding fish meal in tilapia diets in the first experiment conducted in fertilized systems which was rich in natural food . Tilapia fed diets containing fish meal had similar growth and feed performances compared to those fed the 18 % plant protein diet . The overall feed costs of the 18 and 30 % crude protein diets ranged 3.53 - 4.66 L.E. kg ⁻¹ gain during the experimental period
