Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Mathematics Summary: Injective modules and their dual projective modules play a central role in the theory of rings and modules. Both notions are used to characterize semisimple artinian rings. a class of rings that is easily described in the literature as direct sums of matrix rings over division rings. While, a result of eckmann and schopf asserts that, every right R-module M can be embedded in an injective envelope (hull) of M, the situation is different when it comes to projective modules
