A more complete understanding of the interplay between adiponectin secretion, THs and metformin treatment will likely lead to better approaches for the management of thyroid disorders, type 2 diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. In the current study we tried to investigate the interference between the thyroid status and serum adiponectin concentration, assess the possibility of involvement of adiponectin (through gC1q-R) in the regulation of thyroid hormone production in thyroid gland tissue
