Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Histology Summary: The aim of this study was to localize the histological and immunohistochemical distribution of various enteroendocrine cells in the mucosa of the stomach of rats of various ages ( weaning , adults , old ) and try to find an explanation for their role in normal and disease conditions . All rats were anaesthetized with thiopental sodium , sacrificed and the stomachs were dissected out . The funds was taken opened from the greater curvature while the pylorus was taken few millimeters proximal to the pyloric sphincter
