Olive oil stones and cellulosic materials isolated from them have been used for removal of Cu(II), Co(II), Cr(III), and Ni(II) heavy metal ions. The effects of contact time, pH, temperature, and concentration of heavy metal ions on the amount of the adsorbed heavy metal ions were studied. Chemical modification of the cellulosic materials isolated from olive stones was carried out to increase the extent of heavy metal ions removal
