A magnetic field possesses a known property that it tends to expand in electrically highly conducting plasmas . In stellar atmospheres , particularly in the solar corona , the atmospere has no boundary that faces the magnetic field to be self confined , but other factors such as gravity provide a suitable constraint . From times to times this confinement fails at some regions leading to the release of some of the atmospheric material
