Buccal mucoadhesive dosage forms for diltiazem hydrochloride were successfully developed to overcome the disadvantage of poor oral bioavailability . The developed buccal solid dosage forms in this study were in form of mucoadhesive films and discs . The buccal mucoadhesive films were prepared by solvent casting technique while the buccoadhesive discs were prepared by direct compression method
