The present study was carried out at Aboelfeta Research Station of the Desert Research Center in North Sinai . This study was divided into four parts 1 ) preparation of tested rations. 2 ) Digestibility trial. 3 ) Reproductive and productive performance of female goats. 4 ) performance of growing goats , Twelve mature male Shami goats were used in metabolism trials to assess the effect of untreated and treated wheat straw on the digestibility , nitrogen balance , water balance and some rumen fermentation parameters
