Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Entomology
The bioassay studies revealed the suppressive role of Heterrorhabditis bacteriophora nematode in controlling the mosquito, Culex quinquefasciatus. On the other hand, both Steinernema carpocapsae and Steinernema feltiae failed to establish in the host larvae or attain significant host mortality values. The host immune response was studied by detecting the changes in total protein profile of the infected larvae and the activity of phenoloxidase enzyme in larvae infected with both Steinernema and Heterorhabditis
