It is often caused by an infection . One hundred and fifty patients clinically diagnosed as microbial keratitis who attended the Research Institute of Ophthalmology cornea clinic were investigated in our study . The samples collected were examined by direct microscopy using Gram stain as well as KOH wet mount , plated on different culture media and analysed by PCR
