Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Design and Production Summary: The present investigation aims to study the effects of Albite and SiC ceramics on thermal cyclic fatigue of A356 composites containing reinforcement of weight fraction (3%) as well as the unreinforced stirred alloy. The composites were fabricated by semi-solid metal processing (SSM). The results before thermal cycling revealed that (A356-3% Albite) MMC exhibited high impact toughness and high strength while (A356-3% SiC) MMC has high strength on the account of ductility
