Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Design and Production
The present investigation aims to study the effects of Albite and SiC ceramics on thermal cyclic fatigue of A356 composites containing reinforcement of weight fraction (3%) as well as the unreinforced stirred alloy. The composites were fabricated by semi-solid metal processing (SSM). The results before thermal cycling revealed that (A356-3% Albite) MMC exhibited high impact toughness and high strength while (A356-3% SiC) MMC has high strength on the account of ductility
