Hypoxic - ischemic injury is the most common cause of encephalopathy in newborns . Standard clinical information cannont reliably predict the neurological outcome as well as the clinical characteristics are not sufficient to determine aetiology and prognosis particularly when a clear history of asphyxia could not be obtained . The goal of our study was to demonstrate MRI diagnostic role in preterm with encephalopathy
