Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Plant Pathology Summary: The objectives of the present work were designed to isolate and identify the causal organism of pepper wilt disease and evaluating its pathogenic ability , as well as the in vitro evaluation of some biotic ( i. e. Trichoderma harzianum , T. viride , and T. aureoviride or antagonistic bacteria , i. e. Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas flurescens ) and aboitic factors (i.e.fungicides, salts, essential oils, chitosan and furfural) that affect the growth of the pathogen , to find out the most suitable and applicable biological and chemical methods for controlling wilt disease of pepper under field conditions
