Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Agronomy Summary: Yield response of sugar beet to minerala N rates (60 , 80 and 100 kg N/ed ) , organic manure ( plant compost 1.5 % N) at the rates of zero , 1 and 2 tons/fed and plant densities 40000 and 46000 plants/fed was studied in a split split plot design during 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons . Results revealed that increasing N rate up to 100 kg N/fed markedly increased chlorophll content in leaves after 100 and 130 days from sowing , LAI , fresh and dry weights of the root , leaves/plant and dry weight/plant as well as RGR and NAR
