Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Department of Microbiology
An experimental S. aureus vaccine was produced from as identified filed isolates recovered from birds (Broiler, layers and breeders) with osteo-arthritis lesions. The vaccine contained whole culture, formalin inactivated S. aureus bacteria plus their toxoid with mineral oils as adjuvant. A preliminary study using single dose of the vaccine showed that double and triple vaccine injection provided 70 and 82% protection, respectively in vaccinated mice
