Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Organic Chemistry Summary: This research work is concerned with the synthesis of novel heterocyclic compounds of thiophene derivatives via reaction of cyanoacetylhydrazine reacted with either cyclohexanone or cyclopentanone and elemental sulfur in 1,4 - dioxan and the presence of triethylamine gave the cycloalkeno[b]thiophene derivatives where the rection of ethy1 cyanoacetate (6b)in 1,4 - dioxan gave the pyrazole derivatives
