Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Oncology-clinical Summary: IMRT technique should be offered to patients with stage IIB-stage IIIA cervical cancer as the challenge with IMRT is to spare the rectum and bladder as much as possible to allow giving the full dose by brachytherapy , while in case of more advanced cases (stage IIIB-IVA) we cannot do that as the large volume of the bladder or the rectum will be the actual target volume and the only value of IMRT in these cases will be in sparing small volume of the risk structures to avoid treatment
