The endocannabinoid system has emerged as a novel and important regulator of many body functions . Potential medications based on this system have thus become a central focus of research for varied indications with important unmet medical needs . In the present work , we report upon the design , synthesis and biological evaluation of new anandamide (AEA) derivatives , obtained by modifications of the fatty acyl chain and / or of the ethanolamide " tail "
