The roots and leaves of the wild shrub Pluchea dioscoridis extracted in water, mulched on the soil, or mixed with it have inhibitory effects on seed germination and seedling growth of itself and other test species. The allelopathic efficacy of P. dioscoridis caused alterations in the root diameter and xylem tissue of the test plants
