The FLT3 gene is mutated by an internal tandem duplication (ITD) in 20-25% of adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Recently, a few patients with AML were found to have the JAK2 V617F mutation. These gene mutations cause constitutive activation of the receptor, in the absence of ligand. This study aimed to assess the frequency of FLT3/ITD and JAK2 V617F mutations in a cohort of 194 newly diagnosed de novo acute myeloid leukmeia AML patients
