This study aims to investigate the dynamics of households' movements in and out relative poverty and identifies factors affecting those movements between 1998 and 2006. To achieve the goal of this study, poor people are classified first into chronically poor and transiently poor. In addition, the likelihoods of entering and exiting poverty in Egypt during the period (1998-2006) are calculated with special emphasis on labor market or employment variables
