There is growing evidence in favor of a clearance deficiency of apoptotic cells as the core mechanism in the pathogenesis of SLE. To assess the presence of anti-c1q antibodies in patient with SLE with and without activity, correlate the presence of these antibodies with lupus nephritis, and assess its predictive value for subsequent lupus nephritis
