Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a noninvasive technique that induces changes in cortical excitability at the site of stimulation and at distant sites leading to either facilitation or inhibition depending on the frequency of the pulses . These effects may outlast the duration of the trains of stimuli for minutes or even hours . Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation may improve spasticity in multiple sclerosis
