The myocardial performance index (MPI) is a combined index of systolic and diastolic dysfunction and has been shown to correlate significantly with other conventional indices . The MPI has proved to be a reliable method for the evaluation of LV systolic and diastolic performance and prognostic value in many kinds of heart disease
