Objectives : To determine the prevalence of infections to describe their site complications and to analyze their risk factors in adults with SLE. This study involved two hundred and fifty consecutive SLE patients attending the Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Department in Cairo University hospitals during the period from September 2010 to March 2011 . Patients were classified into infection group and non - infection group their medical files were retrospectively reviewed for demographic information clinical features of the disease immune profile laboratory features disease activity (SLEDAI) medical treatment and infection
