Background: Helicobacter pylori (Hp) is a gram-negative bacillus responsible for one of the most common infection found in humans worldwide. It is present in about 50% of the global population. It was found that it is closely associated with antral gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers in adults and children. H pylori was classified by the world health organization as a class I carcinogen for gastric cancer and currently this organism is considered the most common etiological agent of infection related cancers representing 5.5% of global cancer burden.
