Egypt has a fixed and rether limited surface and groundwater resources. the present per capita water availability is in the order of 1000 cubic meter per year which indicates that Egypt in currently under "water stress" toxic heavy metals pollution of water is a major environmental problem, and most conventional remediation approdache do not provide acceptable soluions.
