Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Clinical and Chemical Pathology Summary: Most patients with acute myeloid leukemia who are younger than 60 years achieve complete remission after chemotherapy and / or SCT. However relapse with its high associated morbidity and mortality (5 years survival rate 50% ) still occurs. To improve the clinical outcome of AML patients leukemia associated antigens were suggested to be targets for immune therapies as an additional approach to chemotherapy and / or SCT
