Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Pediatrics Summary: The commonest cause for readmission after delivery is significant hyperbilirubinemia. Our study evaluated cord bilirubin as a predictor for significant hyperbilirubinemia and compared serum bilirubin levels with Bilicheck® measurement assessing its reliability. Our results showed that cord bilirubin at cut-off level of 2mg/dl indicates 77% risk for subsequent hyperbilirubinemia and a highly significant positive correlation between serum bilirubin and transcutaneous measurement at the 4 {u036D} {u036A} day of life
