The sequelae of septic arthritis of the hip involve a spectrum of pathology. Clinical problems include pain, instability (Pistoning) from subluxtion or dislocation, abductor insufficiency, and leg length discrepancy. The treatment must be individualized, and many options are available. Residual sepsis should be treated by debridement and antibiotics, and reconstruction should be delyed until sepsis has been controlled
