The aim of the present study was to improve bioremediation of crude petroleum sludge using different isolated bacterial strains . The bacterial isolate SL₃, was the best strain possessing high biodegradability of the sludge. The different cultural conditions for the bacterial isolate SL₃, (Bacillus sp. HPC508) were optimized using different parameters- pH, inoculum size, carbon source concentration, у- irradiation, nitrogen source, nitrogen source concentration, aeration and incubation period
