Measurements of tissue blood flow provide an essential contribution to the diagnosis of diseases which causes an impaired blood flow . This technique is noninvasive and permits continuous measurement of microcirculatory blood flow . The principle of this method is to measure the doppler shift - the frequency change that light undergoes when reflected by moving scatterers
