In the present work, certain semisynthetic benzopyran derivatives were synthesized from the naturally occurring furochromones khellin and visnagin. The synthesized compounds comprise four different classes namely: chalcones, flavones, 7- styrylfurochromones and furochromones. The in-vitro cytotoxic activity of 38 compounds against MCF-7, and 17 compounds against PC-3 in comparison to doxorubicin as a reference standard was tested
