The proposed approach uses combination of wavelet transform and support vector machine, to solve the problem. The proposed protection scheme works in four stages. The first stage, the current and voltage signals are analyzed with the aid of Discrete Wavelet Transform to obtain the required features for Fault Detectors, Classifiers and Locator units
