Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Pediatrics Summary: Background : Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is characterized by impaired systolic function of one or both ventricles . The aim of this study to assess left ventricular (LV) function in DCM patients using tissue doppler imaging . Results S' was correlated with E' at the mitral annulus there was a significant positive correlation between mitral S' and E' waves in cases (r = 0.6 P= 0.000) and controls (r = 0.7 P= 0.01)
