The postnatal development of the mandibular gland of fourty four newzealand rabbits was investigated using light microscope, TEM and enzyme histochemistry. The histological study revealed that the mandibular gland was more developed at birth than the other rodents. From birth to 3rd day old the gland has seromucoid secretory endpieces but the serous granules were predominate
