Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Power Engineering Summary: Experimental and numerical study of a building roof containing Phase Change Material (PCM) to improve energy utilization in buildings in hot regions is presented in this thesis. The system consists of a concrete slab containing PCM incorporated into the roof structure to reduce the heat gain inside the building by absorbing the solar heat through the melting process before it reaches the indoor space.
