Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Summary: Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the vertical bone gain after augmentation of posterior mandibular ridge by use of composite autogenous and artificial bone graft with a preparatory stage of soft tissue expansion. Results: All the 10 surgical sites in our 8 participating patients have had bone gain in a measure of few millimeters in vertical dimension which range from (2.80 mm) to (4.90 mm) with mean vertical bone gain of (3.95 ± 0.59 mm) as measured by CBCT.
