Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Microbiology and Immunology Summary: The correlation between broth micro dilution (BMD), modified BMD, Etest (ET), disc diffusion (DD), and Fungifast AFG (FG) were determined for fluconazole (FLU), amphotericin B (AMB), and nystatin (NYS). The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of those antifungal agents was established for fifty Candida spp. isolates collected from immunocompromised patients admitted to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo, Egypt. The identified species were: C. albicans, C. glabrata, C. tropicalis, and C. krusei. Non-Candida albicans Candida (NAC) species showed higher MICs when compared with C. albicans especially with FLU. When we compared the BMD MICs recorded spectrophotmetrically with the visual BMD MICs readings, the two techniques were highly correlated with a high percentage of agreement 92.15%, 100%, 100%, ICC of 0.839, 1, and 1 for FLU, AMB, and NYS,respectively
