Depression is a common psychiatric disorder affecting individuals across life span and often arise in Alzheimer{u2019}s disease. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of the antidepressant drugs clomipramine, fluoxetine and sertraline (5&20 mg/kg) compared with acetylcholinesterase inhibitor donepezil (5mg/kg) on oxidative stress, memory impairment and depressant-like behaviour in a model of Alzheimer{u2019}s disease induced by prolonged intraperitoneal administration of aluminum chloride (AlCl3) (10 mg/kg/day for 60 days) in rats
