Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Prosthodontics Summary: This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of immediate versus delayed loading on the implant supported mandibular removable partial over - denture in unilateral distal extension cases ( Kennedy class II) using dome - shaped abutment. Fourteen patients were selected from the outpatient clinic of the prosthodontics department, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University. All patients were partially edentulous with mandibular unilateral distal extension. With a mean age of 42 years and were free from any systemic diseases which might affect the bone quality or post-operative healing. Patients were divided into two equal groups. Patients of Group I received an implant supported removable partial over-denture immediately after placement of the implant by one week. Patients of Group II received an implant supported removable partial over - denture by delayed loading protocol after 3 months of placement of the implant
