Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Orthopedic Surgery Summary: Patellofemoral pain is one of the most common musculo skeletal complaints in adolescents .Various causes including skeletal malalignment, poor neuromuscular control of lower limbs, patellar instability, overuse, overload and biomechanical problems.History and complete physical examination should include the entire lower limb, observation of the patient's gait and the frequent predisposing factors. X ray with special views, CT scan, MRI , ultrasound even arthroscopy should be obtained. Conservative treatment recommended for 3 6 months. Surgical treatment is indecated if conservative treatment failed. Surgical treatment consists of realignment procedures
