Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Architectural Engineering Summary: The research studies the mutual effects between architecture and ritualistic performing arts, and the reflection of such relation in resonance or discord upon the perceptual quality of the experience. Chapter one introduces the study and provides methodology, hypothesis and objectives of the research. Chapter two provides a theoretical base for the experiential aspects binding the geometric structure of space creation to the sacred performances on one hand, and the key notions of triggering a spiritual impact through an aesthetical, intellectual stimulus on the other hand. Moreover building an analysis model interpreting geometrical layers with architecture and performances. Chapter Three and four in light of geometric constructs we analyze sacred spaces of ritualistic performances across different beliefs, eras and typologies with special emphasis on the Mevlevi dervishes Sāma{u2019}Khāna. Chapter Five and Six presents the evolution binary of both building typology and performances, ending with conclusions and further research recommendations
